Drumroll…Faith Farms and Climate Takes Root in SW Iowa

We are excited to announce that we will be running our Faith Farms and Climate program in Harlan, Atlantic, Red Oak, and Earlham this winter!

As summer winds down, we are building networks of farmers and faith leaders who are interested in participating in the conversation and taking bold climate action in the fields and from the pulpit.

Faith Farms and Climate is the cornerstone of Iowa IPL’s work. Developed by Matt Russell, the program is an intimate intergenerational conversation between farmers focused on the intersection of vocation (farming), faith, and a call to take bold action in the face of the climate crisis. Last year, Iowa IPL Executive Director, Deaconess Irene DeMaris, adapted the program for faith leaders. We look forward to holding space in SW and Central Iowa for farmers and for faith leaders to connect and build climate initiatives on their farms and in their communities.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating, please contact Elston Tortuga, our SW Iowa Rural Faith Organizer, at elston@iowaipl.org. We are so excited to hear from you!
