A “Faith Field Day” on Soil and Spirituality
Did you know that a tablespoon of soil contains 50 billion microbes? The soil all around us often goes unnoticed and unappreciated, but it’s a wondrous thing we all depend on. At this special “faith field day,” sponsored by Iowa Interfaith Power & Light, we’ll learn a bit about what’s in our soil and how soil plays an important role in reducing climate change. Plus, we’ll consider what soil can teach us about ourselves, our spirituality, and our relationships with nature.
Come on your own, with a friend, or as a family, and reconnect with nature! We’ll have some special exploratory activities you can do alone, with a friend, or together as a family.
Afterwards, stay for lunch (please bring your own), explore the 5,500 acres of beautiful land alone or with others, hike/bike/run on the many trails, go fishing, see the artwork, and even spend the night if you’d like to. There’s lots to do at Whiterock Conservancy, so check out their website to learn more about this unique place in Iowa.
This event is free, though donations to Iowa Interfaith Power & Light are certainly welcome.
