Green Team PhotoVolunteer Opportunities

Want to become a volunteer or intern for Iowa IPL? We have several opportunities for you!

With a small staff, Iowa IPL is able to equip and inspire people of faith to become leaders finding solutions to climate change through the help of dedicated interns and volunteers.

Whether you’re able to volunteer one time, once a month, or once a week, we have opportunities to connect you to our work!

Iowa IPL is looking for individuals to serve on our media team, serving as a guest blogger and writing letters to the editor on energy and climate-related topics on a regular basis in your local newspaper.

Iowa IPL regularly needs volunteers to help in our Des Moines office with data entry, mailings, and website updates.

We are also looking for individuals who would like to become part of our speakers’ bureau, giving presentations to congregations on climate change, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability, and land conservation practices.

In addition, we are always looking for help tabling at events around the state and sharing information about Iowa IPL with the public.

Iowa IPL is a wonderful place for students to learn about climate and energy policy, nonprofit management, fundraising and development, and to help develop and facilitate climate-related programming and educational opportunities. We host students from colleges and universities across the state for summer, semester, and year-long placements.

If you are interested in volunteering or interning, please contact Susan Hendershot Guy at director@iowaipl.org, and we will find just the right spot for you.
